Brandy Lake, Port Carling, Muskoka Lakes

Brandy Lake is in the Township of Muskoka Lakes, near the town of Port Carling. Our cottage is about 2 hours from Toronto, ON via Hwy 400 N.

Brandy Lake is a quieter lake, about 2 km long (289 acres) and is nestled between Lake Rosseau to the north and Lake Muskoka to the south. It’s big enough for water skiing and tubing, and also perfect for paddle boarding and canoeing. Brandy Lake gets its name from its brandy, or tea, colour. It’s coloured this way from the pine needles/trees that surround the lake. Brandy is one of the cleaner lakes in Muskoka (and we water test the well every year).

There is great fishing on Brandy Lake. Bass, pickerel/walleye, and lots of pike, right off the dock, but don’t miss out on all the nooks and crannies hidden all over the lake.

There are places in town to get worms or leeches, but we've had lots of success with old- fashioned lures.
