Discover Muskoka

Hiking trails

Check out these Hiking Trails.

The Muskoka Trail Council also has a great list of trails for all of the surrounding communities. Township of Muskoka Lakes would be the closest but Bracebridge is also close by.

Tobogganing and skating

Kerr Park is a personal family favourite for their tobogganing hill but there are many others in the area to check out: here and here.

Arrowhead Park has many winter activities, including skating, snow shoeing and cross country skiing.

Hanna Park in Port Carling has a skating trail. Check out their Facebook Page for updates.

Check out other local skating trails and snowshoeing. The cities of Bracebridge and Gravenhurst have websites with a number of local winter activities to check out.

Private horse-led sleigh rides can be booked in advance for the family.

Port Carling amenities

Port Carling is known as the "hub of the lakes", and it’s where Lake Rosseau and Lake Muskoka meet up.

There is a Foodland, LCBO, Home Hardware, pharmacy and lots of touristy shops right in town for your convenience.

Grab a woodfired pizza at Pie Wood Fired Pizza Joint.

Check out Mooskoka’s Ice Cream Shop or people watch on the patio of Turtle Jacks during the summer months.

Stuff for kids

In addition to unplugging, enjoying nature and spending time together, there are also lots of local attractions for your rambunctious city kids, like Bush’s Watersports in Bala (about a 15 minute drive).

Hanna Park has an awesome playground and sandy beach - only a 5 minute drive from the cottage.
